OUR FOOD
Traditional home baked foods are the order of the day in Cronin's, where you will find a host of local delicacies, such as Thecla's Seafood Chowder or delicious French Onion soup, with home-made brown bread or Chicken Liver Pate, served with Sweet Cumberland Sauce. Seafood is central to the menu with fresh oysters and mussels served daily.
The Mad Fish Restaurant opens for evening meals in the pub. Dishes are once again centred around fresh seafood and local produce.
Cronin's received the BIM Seafood Circle award in 2008 which recognises the consistent delivery of the highest standards of seafood and service in Ireland.
Lunch is served Monday to Friday, 12 – 2.45pm and Saturday from 12 – 3.30pm

Dinner is served Tuesday – Saturday (Summer) and Thursday – Saturday (Winter). Open from 6 pm. Last orders 9pm. Booking is advisable.

THE HISTORY OF CRONIN'S PUB
The building itself is unique and has its origins as the town hotel. It was built in 1892 and opened by William Kennefick and opened the following year as "Kenneficks Hotel". The original glass panel door, bearing the Kennefick name, is still there as you enter the left front door.
The business remained in the Kennefick family until 1970, when Denis Cronin and his wife Jo bought it. It was Jo who started the collection of artefacts and memorabilia and many of the items still displayed today came from her collection. Their son Sean took over the family business in the late 70's. He vastly extended his mother collection, adding character jugs, advertising signs, miniature bottles and cards. His interest in boxing, maritime, local and Cork history is reflected in the large display of black and white photographs that form a permanent exhibition not to be missed.
